PhD scholarship on mathematical modelling of brain development and evolution

  • 13 Jul 2022
  • Swansea University

A fully funded PhD position to work on mathematical modelling of brain development and evolution is available at Swansea University.

The PhD project will be supervised by Dr Picco (https://www.swansea.ac.uk/staff/noemi.picco/) and will be in collaboration with biologists at the Phylo Brain lab in Bilbao, Spain (http://www.phylobrain.com) and Prof Lorenzi at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy (https://staff.polito.it/tommaso.lorenzi/).

The project is open to any candidate with a background in mathematics, computer science or neighbouring disciplines. A strength in PDEs and related numerical methods is a plus.

All details can be found here: https://www.swansea.ac.uk/postgraduate/scholarships/research/mathematics-ukri-phd-mathematical-2022-rs114.php

Note the 13th July closing date. The PhD position is fully funded for UK and international students (but doesn’t cover the cost of the visa).

Dr Picco (noemi.picco@swansea.ac.uk) will be happy to have an informal chat with anyone who may be interested.
